Reporting Animal Cruelty in the City of Toronto?

The Ontario SPCA and Toronto Police Services are your first responders

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - June 18, 2013) - The Ontario SPCA congratulates Crime Stoppers on their new partnership with Paws Tipsters. The Ontario SPCA has a long term relationship with the Toronto Police Services as well as a Province-wide relationship with Crime Stoppers. These partnerships allow us to help more animals in the city of Toronto and across the province.

The Ontario SPCA and the Toronto Police Services are the only agencies that can enforce animal cruelty legislation in the City of Toronto. If anyone has any concerns for the welfare of an animal, they are to contact the Ontario SPCA (1-888-668-7722), Toronto Police Services (911), or our Community Partner Crime Stoppers (416-222-8477).

All reports to Crime Stoppers will be transferred to the Ontario SPCA to follow up, or the local police when necessary. All calls will remain anonymous.

"We rely on the public to be our eyes and ears," says Chief Inspector Connie Mallory, Ontario SPCA. "Should you have a concern for the welfare of an animal please contact us so that our officers, or the local police, can follow up accordingly."

The Ontario SPCA responds, on average, to over 16,000 reports of animal cruelty every year.
