Reports on Plans and Priorities Tabled for 2015-16

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - March 31, 2015) - Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat

Today, Treasury Board President Tony Clement tabled the annual Reports on Plans and Priorities (RPPs) on behalf of 84 government departments and agencies.

The 2015-16 RPPs contain focused, relevant information that further explain the funding requirements outlined in the 2015-16 Main Estimates. The reports reflect the Government of Canada's continuing commitment to fiscal responsibility and improving accessibility to parliamentary reporting.

Quick Facts

  • Reports on Plans and Priorities (RPPs) play an important role in the Government's planning and resource management processes. The President of the Treasury Board tables these documents in Parliament on behalf of the ministers who preside over appropriation-dependent departments and agencies. Ministers are ultimately accountable to Parliament for the content and format of their RPPs.
  • They provide details over a three-year period on an organization's main priorities, organized by strategic outcome, program, and expected results, and provide links to related resource requirements in the Main Estimates.
  • The RPPs form the baseline against which organizations assess and report on their year-end performance through Departmental Performance Reports.

Quote

"Our Government is committed to responsible spending while maintaining excellent services for Canadians. This year's Reports on Plans and Priorities exemplify those efforts. Canadians can be assured that this government will continue to strive for increased transparency and accountability on how their tax dollars are spent."

The Honourable Tony Clement, President of the Treasury Board
