Plateau Systems Offers Free Access to Aberdeen Group's Recent Research Report

ARLINGTON, VA--(Marketwire - January 14, 2010) - Plateau Systems, a leading provider of talent management software, services and solutions, today announced the complimentary availability of an Aberdeen Group research report on integrated talent management. Based on surveys of nearly 350 human resources and line of business executives, Aberdeen Group, a Harte-Hanks Company (NYSE: HHS), found that the key to organic business growth is workforce alignment with near- and long-term organizational goals. The report, made possible in part by Plateau, is available at

In its report, "Integrated Talent Management: Improving Business Results through Visibility and Alignment," Aberdeen Group found that Best-in-Class organizations are 150 percent more likely than Laggards to have strong alignment between their talent management initiatives and their organization's strategic business objectives. Aberdeen's findings revealed that as part of this alignment, Best-in-Class organizations are more likely to have integrated disparate talent management processes and data, and are nearly twice as likely to have defined metrics to measure talent management effectiveness in their organizations. The survey findings indicated that this alignment is paying dividends for Best-in-Class organizations, with those organizations achieving significantly better year-over-year employee engagement and employee performance reviews than Laggard organizations. Aberdeen found that talent management would continue to play an essential role in 2010, with more than 75 percent of respondents noting that their organizational effort on talent management will increase in 2010, and approximately 50 percent indicating that their budget for talent management will increase in 2010.

Aberdeen's report goes on to detail specific recommendations for organizations seeking to improve their organization's alignment between workforce and organizational goals. Specifically, Aberdeen noted that "to achieve Best-in-Class performance, organizations must:

-- Standardize talent management practices and processes - maintain a
    baseline of consistency and allow tweaking to address local needs;
-- Encourage collaboration between HR and other functional 'talent' areas to
    identify and work around workflow bottlenecks; and
-- Review or assess talent management strategy effectiveness regularly - at
    least twice per year."

"Aberdeen's research is directly in line with trends we have identified for some time across our customers, namely that there is a powerful link between integrated talent management and business performance," explained Jeff Kristick, Senior Vice President of Marketing, Plateau Systems. "Integrating critical talent processes and data allows organizations to grow their existing talent and gives them the visibility they need to make talent-based decisions and conduct longer-term workforce planning."
