Residence Inn Sandestin Hosts American Red Cross Blood Drive and Partners With Food For Thought Florida

DESTIN, FL--(Marketwired - Feb 13, 2015) - Residence Inn Sandestin is hosting its first ever blood drive to help support the American Red Cross this Monday, February 16, 2015. This is the first blood drive at the hotel, where both employees of the Residence Inn and its sister property, Courtyard Sandestin, will participate to help make the effort an unforgettable success.

The event takes place this Monday, February 16^th from 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM. The American Red Cross mobile unit will be parked at the hotel for people to come in and donate, while the staff provides Starbucks coffee and snacks for donors throughout the day.

The extended stay hotel, located in Destin, is proud to partner with the American Red Cross as a member of the Disaster Responder Program. The Disaster Responder Program encompasses everything from readiness activities to relief efforts. Investments by Disaster Responder members provide funding that enables the Red Cross to respond immediately to the needs of individuals and families impacted by disaster anywhere in the United States, regardless of cost.

Through opportunities big and small, Residence Inn Sandestin will be able to support the American Red Cross and show its "Spirit to Serve" and dedication to helping victims of disasters. The partnership is set to have a strong, positive impact on the local community.

The hotel near Baytown Wharf, is continuing its community efforts by partnering with local outreach organization Food For Thought Florida. This is the hotel's first time partnering with the local group, which provides weekly backpacks filled with easy-to-make meals so children can focus on their development and education. Residence Inn Sandestin's sister hotel, Courtyard Sandestin, is participating as well and as an ongoing initiative the properties plan on having all associates volunteer to assist Food For Thought and its mission throughout the year.
