Residential Construction Agreements Set to Expire April 30th

VAUGHAN, ON--(Marketwired - February 09, 2016) - Every three years, as per the Ontario Labour Relations Act, all unionized employers in the GTA's residential construction sector find themselves immersed in discussions related to collective bargaining. In short, every three years is a bargaining year, and that time is once again upon us.

The collective bargaining agreements in place for the GTA's residential construction industry will expire on April 30th, 2016. These talks are a complex process involving various builders bargaining groups, sub-contractor organizations and labour unions.

The dedicated directors of the various accredited and non-accredited employer bargaining associations are in the early stages of the re-negotiation process with their labour partners. The goal, as always, will be to reach a fair and reasonable agreement which will be used to achieve stability in Canada's largest residential housing market.
