Resource America, Inc. Authorizes Payment of Cash Dividend

PHILADELPHIA, PA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- May 3, 2007 -- Resource America, Inc. (NASDAQ: REXI) (the "Company") announces that its Board of Directors has authorized the payment of a cash dividend on May 31, 2007 in the amount of $0.07 per share of the Company's common stock to all holders of record at the close of business on May 17, 2007. Last quarter, the Company authorized an increase in its cash dividend to $0.07 per share from its former quarterly cash dividend of $0.06 per share, which represented an increase of 17%.

The Company has issued a cash dividend for forty-eight consecutive quarters. Currently the Company has approximately 17.6 million shares of common stock outstanding.
