ST. PAUL, MN--(Marketwired - Oct 2, 2013) - HealthEast Care System announces that Paul Torgerson will be joining the organization in the new role of Senior Vice President, Chief Administrative Officer & General Counsel.

Torgerson is currently a partner in the health care group at Dorsey & Whitney, LLP. Torgerson will begin his new role at HealthEast at the end of the year.

"The pace and complexity of changes in the health care marketplace are challenging," says HealthEast President & CEO Kathryn Correia. "Over the last year, HealthEast's senior leadership team has begun to develop a long-term strategy to maintain our relevancy in a new world of health care delivery. Through our planning, it has become evident that the organization needs an experienced executive leader to best address current and emerging business needs."

At HealthEast, Torgerson will have responsibility for strategic planning and development, marketing and brand, government affairs, legal and regulatory, and risk management.
