Ressources Appalaches: New Uranium Discovery

RIMOUSKI, QUEBEC--(CCNMatthews - Oct. 25, 2006) - Ressources Appalaches (TSX VENTURE:APP) announces the discovery of a uranium showing on its newly acquired Ashini property located north of Godbout, Quebec. The property is owned 100% by Ressources Appalaches and covers an area of 30 km2. A channel sample has yielded a grade of 0.22% uranium (0.26% U3O8) over 30 cm in a pegmatite vein. This grade is considered to be important because it is approximately 5 times higher than the grades in certain world class uranium deposits that contain mineable grades between 0.03 and 0.05% U3O8, such as the Rossing mine in Namibia

The pegmatite vein is exposed for a strike length of eight meters, over a width of one meter, and is open in all directions. The vein will be systematically sampled and overburden stripping will enable the Company to determine the orientation and width of the vein. Nearby veins will also be sampled in order to evaluate the pegmatite network in the area. A large 50 km-long regional structure, identified by a strong magnetic signature, crosses the property. According to geologist Alain Hupe : "the uranium mineralization may be associated or controlled by this regional structure and demonstrates the potential of our properties in this region."

With four other uranium properties near the large regional structure, Ressources Appalaches controls approximately 155 km2. The properties contain two other identified veins, grading 0.06% and 0.07% U, located 1.7 km to the south and 25 km to the north of the vein described above. The area has been poorly prospected, except along the main roads in the area, and the Company expects that additional veins may be found.

The samples have been analyzed using the Delayed Neutron Counting (DNC) method at Actlabs.
