Restaurant in Warsaw Welcomes New Executive Chef

Tomasz Borucki Takes Over the Kitchens at Warsaw Marriott Hotel Restaurants

WARSAW, POLAND--(Marketwired - Jul 2, 2013) -  Tomasz Borucki is no stranger to feeding special guests. After starting his career in Warsaw 16 years ago under the guidance of Swiss chef Kurt Sheller, Borucki had his first celebrity diner -- England's Queen Elizabeth II, who was visiting the city in 1996. While his new role as executive chef at the Warsaw Marriott Hotel is still too new to know who'll be sitting at his table, guests of this hotel's Warsaw restaurants can still enjoy the VIP treatment.

After his brush with royalty, Borucki began what would be a long, successful career in hospitality, working in hotels and aboard cruise liners. Coincidentally, he worked aboard the famous Queen Elizabeth II, which circled the world three times with Borucki aboard. Now, he finds himself back in Warsaw and at these luxury accommodations.

"I like fresh and simple cuisine as I am not a revolutionist, but an evolutionist," Borucki says. "I am very happy to be back in Warsaw, Poland where I was born, after several years of gaining experience all over the world. It is a great opportunity to work for such a big company as Marriott. For me, the Warsaw Marriott hotel is one of the symbols of the capitol of Poland."

His experience both in and outside of the kitchen makes Borucki an ideal fit at this hotel in Warsaw, where his new role has him overseeing and mentoring the kitchen crews of all food and beverage outlets including Parmizzano's Restaurant, Lilla Weneda, The Lobby Bar, Panorama Bar & Lounge and the Champions Sports Bar.

Borucki, who holds a chef's diploma from the American Culinary Federation, has led kitchens at a number of five-star hotels in destinations including the Maldives, and has been recognized for his excellence with the 2012 Presidency Award and the Food and Beverage Excellence Award 2011 for outstanding results in the Food and Beverage category of the EAME Hotels.
