Retired Baseball Superstar David Ortiz Steps up to the Plate to Help Some of the Most Vulnerable Areas and Victims of Hurricane Irma

TORONTO, ON--(Marketwired - Sep 8, 2017) - David Ortiz wants his greatest legacy to be saving lives, and is working together with i am action to help make this happen. For over a decade now, the David Ortiz Children's Fund, has been dedicated to helping children in need.

In response to one of the most powerful hurricanes ever recorded, the David Ortiz Children's Fund will be working with i am action™ and other internationally recognized, vetted charities to help those areas, children and other individuals, impacted by this devastating storm.

"Our goal is to help areas and countries such as Dominican Republic, Haiti, Cuba, Puerto Rico, Bahamas, Turks and Caicos, Barbuda, Antigua, St. Martin, St. Barts, British Virgin Islands but don't have the resources and infrastructure to deal with once in a 1,000-year disaster," stated Alex Haditaghi, the founder of IamAction.com.

All donations to i am action's IAA Emergency Fund will exclusively support relief and recovery efforts from this storm beginning with immediate needs, and later, long-term recovery. The David Ortiz Children's Fund will be working towards providing support for remote pediatric care for the children who need it. Other charities such as SOS Children's Fund have already been making efforts in areas such as Haiti to build homes and water wells, and will continue to provide these vital resources. To be a part of the efforts underway to help those who need it most, please visit www.iamaction.com/irma

i am action™ recognizes that in times of need it is often difficult to know which charities will provide the most relevant assistance to those who need it most. For this reason, they carefully vet all associated funds and charities, only forging relationships with those who are internationally recognized and have passed a stringent set of criteria. Due to the reporting standards upheld by i am action™ to protect the donors and intended recipients, in addition to the site's vigorous vetting standards, donors are guaranteed publication of follow-up stories, photos and impact numbers.
