Retransmission: Extreme CCTV to Unveil New REG License Plate Capture Cameras; Advances Allow Stronger Reach into ITS, Law Enforcement and Security Sectors

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - Nov. 1, 2005) - Extreme CCTV Int'l Inc., division of Extreme CCTV Inc. (TSX:EXC), the global leader in active-infrared night vision surveillance equipment, will be showcasing its award-winning REG® License Plate Capture cameras at the ITS World Congress in San Francisco, November 7 - 10, 2005. Building on its foundation of successes in London, Stockholm and the United States, Extreme will be unveiling new capabilities of its industry-leading REG cameras for Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS).

The latest model, REG-L, incorporates new technologies for advanced performance imaging with respect to speed, distance and lighting. Additionally, improved power management delivers even higher-efficiency operation, enabling the cameras to be powered directly from a car battery. The latest round of technological advances makes REG the most versatile license plate capture cameras available on the market today.

REG license plate capture, which has generated increasing interest for applications in ITS, law enforcement, parking and security, can now be applied for mobile and low-voltage environments. The resulting surveillance images integrate seamlessly with industry-standard DVRs, as well as with Automatic License Plate Recognition (ALPR) intelligent software, which converts REG images to alphanumeric data that can be analyzed, compared, matched and referenced. The system provides irrefutable evidence matching vehicles to a targeted "hot-list" under any ambient light condition.

The ITS industry is estimated to be worth $30 to $40 billion globally, and includes toll collection, traffic violation enforcement, vehicle tracking, travel time analysis, public safety and Amber-Alert.
