Retroficiency Names Ed McGlynn as Vice President of Utility Solutions

Accomplished Industry Expert to Oversee Retroficiency's Innovative, Analytic-Enabled Utility Energy Efficiency Programs

BOSTON, MA--(Marketwired - Aug 20, 2014) - Retroficiency, the building efficiency intelligence company for utilities and energy service providers, today announced it has named industry veteran Ed McGlynn as vice president of utility solutions.

In his new role, McGlynn will oversee all aspects of creating and helping to support Retroficiency's ground-breaking, analytic-enabled utility programs, including strategy and day-to-day program delivery. McGlynn will work closely with Retroficiency's utility and program administrator customers and partners to ensure energy efficiency programs deliver more savings in less time and cost compared with traditional approaches.

With more than 20 years in the utility energy efficiency industry, McGlynn brings a strong track record of direct energy efficiency program experience to Retroficiency. In his most recent role at ICF, he helped to sell, launch and deliver comprehensive commercial and industrial (C&I) programs for utilities and program administrators throughout the United States. McGlynn previously held a senior role directing energy efficiency program implementation at KEMA, preceded by more than a decade spent designing, delivering and evaluating large-scale C&I programs at utility companies National Grid and NSTAR Electric & Gas.

"This is a revolutionary time for the industry, as today's utilities are challenged to meet increasing goals for energy savings and better serve their customers," said McGlynn. "Analytic-driven programs have the potential to drastically cut the cost to acquire customers at scale by pairing the highest potential commercial buildings with the right energy efficiency solutions. Retroficiency has the superior technology, team and approach needed to be successful in this market. I'm excited to be a part of the Retroficiency team as we pave the way for new energy efficiency programs and a more sustainable future for our society."

Retroficiency's proprietary Building Efficiency Intelligence platform rapidly mines utility meter data and building information to target buildings with high energy savings potential, engage customers with building specific opportunities, convert more projects, and track energy efficiency upgrades at scale. Providing unmatched speed, flexibility and cost effectiveness, Retroficiency's solution can analyze whole commercial buildings and gain deep insights in minutes. The company has experienced significant year-over-year growth and is currently working across 20 rate-payer-funded utility programs.

"The demand for energy analytics has grown significantly in the past few years, as utilities and program administrators look for ways to ramp up their commercial-sector energy efficiency programs quickly and inexpensively," said Bennett Fisher, CEO and co-founder of Retroficiency. "Retroficiency is right in the middle of that growth, and Ed's proven track record and excellence in program design and implementation align perfectly with our mission of delivering the kind of game-changing analytics that can and will completely disrupt the economics of the utility industry for many years to come. We are thrilled to have him as a part of our team."
