IRVINE, CA--(Marketwire - January 13, 2011) - RFaxis, a fabless semiconductor company focused on innovative, next-generation RF solutions for the wireless and connectivity markets, today announced that its RFX2401H RF Front-end Integrated Circuit (RFeIC™), combined with NXP's JN5148 System-on-a-Chip (SoC), enables the world's most cost-effective high-power ZigBee module from Maxx Tech Systems.

Based in Taipei, Taiwan, Maxx Tech Systems is a leading solution provider in the rapidly growing ZigBee market, serving a diversified customer base with applications including advanced metering, energy harvesting, intelligent lighting, building control, home automation, health care, asset management and crop monitoring. Maxx Tech Systems extends its family of low and medium output power range ZigBee modules with its highly anticipated high-power MiteeMote™ ZigBee module designed especially for reliability and robustness in multipath environments. This new MiteeMote™ is a microminiature module based on NXP's JN5148 wireless microcontroller SoC which supports JenNet, ZigBee PRO and IEEE 802.15.4, and comes complete with the RFaxis RFX2401H RFeIC™ and antennas so that customers can readily integrate the MiteeMote™ into their devices without any further RF design. By adopting the RFaxis RFX2401H, the MiteeMote™ is capable of delivering up to 27dBm (half-watt) maximum transmit power. On the receive side, a 6dB improvement in receive sensitivity is achieved by way of the RFX2401H on-chip integrated LNA. The combination of superior transmit power and receive sensitivity makes MiteeMote™ the best-in-class cost-effective high-performance ZigBee module today.
