Rhode Island Business Plan Competition Announces Free Financial Planning Workshop

PROVIDENCE, RI -- (MARKET WIRE) -- December 27, 2006 -- The Rhode Island Business Plan Competition today announced that it will hold the first of three free workshops on Jan. 10 to help emerging entrepreneurs improve their business skills.

"How to Develop Financial Projections" is open to the public, but pre-registration is required at It will be held 5-7 p.m. at the offices of Brown Rudnick, 121 So. Main St., Providence.

Larry Davidson, principal with Providence accounting firm of Kahn, Litwin, Renza & Co., Ltd., will lead the workshop.

Garrett Hunter, Rhode Island Business Plan Competition co-chair and president of the Business Development Company of Rhode Island, said the financial planning workshop was added to this year's Competition in response to requests from participants in last year's Competition.

He added, "We're very fortunate that Larry Davidson will lead this workshop, as he has a wealth of knowledge about finances and knows what emerging entrepreneurs need to know about financial planning."

With more than 35 years of public accounting experience, Davidson is highly regarded within the industry. His responsibilities at Kahn Litwin include coordinating all services to a variety of entrepreneurial companies, specializing in the financial needs of closely held, venture-backed, and publicly owned companies.
