CHICAGO, IL--(Marketwired - Dec 12, 2013) - City and state officials joined representatives of Trillium CNG™, a business unit of Integrys Energy Group, Inc. (NYSE: TEG), and Frito-Lay North America in a ribbon-cutting ceremony Thursday at the compressed natural gas (CNG) station at 9400 Highland drive, approximately 7 miles off of Highway 63, in Jonesboro, Ark.
Trillium's new CNG station is located in the Jonesboro Industrial Park and less than 1 mile from Frito-Lay's Jonesboro plant, which is fueling its large Class 8 CNG tractor-trailers at the station. Frito-Lay North America selected Trillium as one of its CNG station partners to build natural gas infrastructure for its large commercial vehicles.
"We are proud to be able to support Frito-Lay and their goals to improve fleet fuel efficiency through the reduction of carbon emissions," said Mary Boettcher, president, Trillium CNG. "The CNG station features two dispensers and Trillium's high performance fast-fill hydraulic intensifier."
By the end of the second quarter of 2014, Trillium will be operating 81 CNG stations nation-wide, with 54 of them having public access.
