RiceBran Technologies Provides Shareholders With an Update on the IFT Annual Meeting & Food Expo®

SCOTTSDALE, AZ--(Marketwired - Aug 7, 2013) - RiceBran Technologies (OTCQB: RIBT), a global leader in the production and marketing of value added products derived from rice bran, is today providing shareholders with an update on the Institute of Food Technologists Annual Meeting & Food Exhibition held on July 13-16, 2013 at McCormick Place in Chicago, IL.

In excess of 23,500 attendees passed through the doors to learn about new ingredients from over 1,171 exhibitors which represented a 10% increase in attendance over last year in Las Vegas. The RBT booth was constantly active with current and future customers and media press all taking the time to learn about a unique range of 'next generation nutrient dense food ingredients' derived from Stabilized Rice Bran. The expo attracted 384 international exhibitors from 35 countries and presented a great opportunity to showcase technical information validating the functionality and the variety of uses of Stabilized Rice Bran, Defatted Rice Bran and its derivatives. More than 100 educational sessions and 1,000+ poster sessions were presented. Dr. Gitanjali (Gits) Prabhu, Senior Partner, PHD Technologies presented "Use of RiceBran Technologies SRB product as a Mustard Replacer or Meat Replacer in Comminuted Meat Products" using RiBran 100. These poster sessions provide information on the latest developments and trends in food science for research and development teams responsible for bringing new product concepts to market.

Two new Proryza™ products were launched at the expo, which highlight RBT's entries into the vegetable protein market using sustainable Stabilized Rice Bran.
