Richard Toftness Joins Vision Research as Vice President of Research and Development

WAYNE, NJ -- (MARKET WIRE) -- January 11, 2007 -- Vision Research, Inc. today announced the addition of Richard (Dick) Toftness to its management team as Vice President of Research and Development. Mr. Toftness will be responsible for Vision Research's worldwide engineering operations.

Before joining Vision Research, Mr. Toftness held the role of Senior Vice President of Advanced Business Development at Xsil Ltd, a semiconductor capital equipment company, where he was responsible for R&D and Marketing functions. Prior to this, he held similar positions in Agilent Technologies, Hewlett-Packard, Control Data, Motorola and the US Government.

He holds a Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Minnesota with an emphasis on solid-state physics and a minor in advanced mathematics. Dick has published numerous papers on semiconductor processing and laser micromachining, has been an invited speaker at industry events, and holds five patents for IC circuit design, optical inspection and machine design. He is a former president of Habitat for Humanity in Loveland, Colorado and a past president of the local YMCA chapter.

Mr. Toftness will be relocating with his wife to Wayne, NJ.
