TWICKENHAM, UNITED KINGDOM--(Marketwired - Apr 16, 2014) - The London Marriott Hotel Twickenham doesn't just offer a location convenient to rugby's Twickenham Stoop; it's set within it. The unique vantage offered by this Middlesex, UK hotel makes it a favorite with sports fans, and in February 2014, the hotel was able to host three young rugby fans, Jack, Jacob and Luke, and their fathers for a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
From 21 to 22 February, this hotel in Richmond, London welcomed beneficiaries of The Muscle Dream Foundation, a charity that works to fulfill the dreams of children and young adults suffering from Muscular Dystrophy. The three families were treated to a highly personalised experience for the England versus Ireland 6 Nations match at the Stoop. Their weekend began on Friday with a private box and dinner at the grounds for the Clash of the Legends match. Adding to the excitement was the chance for the boys to meet with players including Jason Leonard, Bill Beaumont, Andy Gomersall, Shane Byrne and Hugh Vyvyan.
The next morning, the families enjoyed breakfast in their rooms at this West London hotel before meeting with Greg Wallace and then heading off to the big match, where their seats were not only wheelchair accessible but provided an awesome view from the half-way line.
"I cannot begin to tell you the impact that the hotel's generous support has meant to the three beneficiaries and their dads," Michael McGrath, CEO of The Muscle Help Foundation, says. "Your support has enabled us to change some more lives and give hope."
The Muscle Foundation was founded in 2003 by McGrath and Miles Peckham. As of April 2014, the organization has been able to make more than 168 dreams come true for children and young adults suffering from severe forms of Muscular Dystrophy.
