Rick Bange Joins King & Spalding as Partner


CHARLOTTE, NC--(Marketwire - October 15, 2007) - King & Spalding, a leading international law firm, announced today that Richard M. Bange III, a corporate lawyer with significant experience in private equity, mergers and acquisitions and leveraged finance, has joined the firm as a partner in its private equity practice. Bange brings an extensive corporate transactional background to the firm's Charlotte office, with a particular focus on private equity and mergers and acquisitions transactions as well as the financing associated with leveraged acquisitions.

Bange joins King & Spalding from the Charlotte office of Alston & Bird. Prior to that, he practiced in New York City for eight years, primarily in the private equity practice of O'Melveny & Myers. He represents private equity sponsors and venture capital funds in a variety of investment and exit transactions including leveraged buyouts, early-stage and growth equity investments, mergers, stock and asset acquisitions and sales, mezzanine investments and recapitalizations.

Bange received a J.D. and a B.A. in Foreign Affairs from the University of Virginia.
