NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - August 31, 2017) - B&H Photo would like to share the announcement of the Theta V Spherical Camera, the latest 360° offering from Ricoh. This model is the first in the series to offer 4K video recording at a resolution of 3840 x 1920 to produce sharper, more immersive imagery that is wellsuited to virtual reality applications. It also boasts enhancements to image quality with a larger sensitivity range of ISO 64-6400 in all modes. The Theta V was able to maintain a similar design to its predecessors with two 12MP 1/2.3" CMOS sensors, each with a fast f/2 lens that will help create high-resolution 5376 x 2688 spherical still images.

Designed for simple operation, the Theta V features just one operation button on its compact body, though users can access the Theta S mobile app to adjust settings, modes, and use advanced functions. The model also features a four-microphone array for capturing 3D audio for more immersive VR experiences and can live-stream video over its USB connection. Additionally, the Theta V has increased internal memory, to 19GB, and features wireless speeds of up to 50 Mbps.

A couple of new accessories are being made available alongside the Theta V: the TA-1 3D Microphone and the TW-1 Underwater Housing. This new microphone was developed through a partnership with Audio-Technica and will deliver vastly improved audio quality when used with the Theta V. It features its own four-microphone array for 360° 3D spatial audio with a wide frequency range, and includes a windscreen to reduce sound. Available now is the TW-1 Underwater Housing, which works with the Theta V, S, and SC. It is rated to be waterproof to 98' and is treated with a hard coating and an anti-reflective coating. This housing also comes with a carrying case and strap.
