One of the most coveted telephoto zoom lenses, the new PENTAX D FA* 70-200mm f/2.8 offers a 105-300mm equivalent focal-length range and serves as an extremely versatile lens characterized by a constant f/2.8 maximum aperture for consistent low-light performance and shallow depth-of-field control. Extra-low dispersion glass is incorporated in the lens's design to increase sharpness and clarity and HD, Aero Bright, and Super Protect coatings have also been added to reduce surface reflections, flare, and ghosting. A Direct Current AF motor realizes smooth and quiet focusing performance and the Quick-Shift Focusing System enables instant manual focus control by simply turning the focusing ring. Other features of the 70-200mm f/2.8 include a focus range limiter, included rotating tripod collar, and 13-seal weather-resistant construction.

For even greater reach, the 150-450mm f/4.5-5.6 provides a 225-675mm equivalent focal-length range and, like the 70-200mm, incorporates ED glass elements to control chromatic aberrations and distortions. HD and SP coatings are featured here, too, as well as the Direct Current AF motor, Quick-Shift Focusing System, and focus range limiter. The 150-450mm distinguishes itself through the inclusion of four customizable AF buttons for lens-based control over focus settings, as well as a focus preset mode for memorizing a specific point of focus. This lens also features 21-seal, weather-resistant construction, includes a rotating tripod collar, and has a zoom lock switch to prevent the lens from accidentally extending during use or while carrying.
