R.I.P. Voicemail: GotVoice Lays Traditional Voicemail to Rest With Launch of Transcription Service

GotVoice Breaks New Ground by Transcribing Voice Messages for Office/PBX Phone Systems and Sprint/Nextel Customers

KIRKLAND, WA--(Marketwire - September 10, 2007) - GotVoice, Inc., the voice messaging company, today announced the launch of the GotVoice Transcription Service, which automatically transcribes voice messages from the user's mobile, home and office phones into text and instantly sends them to users via email or SMS. In addition to providing the only transcription capabilities for home landline numbers and office/PBX phone systems, GotVoice is the only service with affordable transcription for Sprint/Nextel™ customers -- which represent 25 percent of the U.S. mobile phone market. Sprint/Nextel users are virtually blocked from using any other transcription service currently on the market, due to the provider's system requirements for call forwarding.

"Since signing up as a customer, the GotVoice service has made life much easier for employees, saving us time and eliminating constant headaches from managing voicemail," said Richard Mueller, vice president, operations and co-founder, Passport Unlimited, Inc. "The transcription service is an important addition, as many of us do not always have the time or access to listen to numerous messages at one time. Transcription will make it much easier for us to quickly scan our messages, and prioritize accordingly, not to mention it is the most affordable way for us to manage individual voice mailboxes."

Prior to the GotVoice Transcription Service, nearly all business/PBX phone systems had no transcription option, making it difficult and costly to retrieve and review messages without dialing the system directly. GotVoice PBX users now have affordable and easy access to a wide range of voice messaging features including MP3 message retrieval and storage, Visual Voicemail, Mobile Compose, transcription, text-to-voice reply to transcribed messages and others. In addition, the GotVoice Transcription Service allows users to filter the contacts for which messages are transcribed, making it possible to receive only the most important messages via transcription.

"With the GotVoice Transcription Service, users can access their most important voicemails first and quickly digest the context of a message at a glance," said Curt Blake, CEO of GotVoice. "For business users, the service dramatically increases productivity, by reducing the amount of time spent playing through unwanted messages, and making messages accessible anytime. Additionally, consumers and business users can save money and time using the contact filtering option and auto-replying to transcribed messages using the text-to-voice feature."

The GotVoice Transcription Service is available to all GotVoice premium users. The GotVoice premium service is available for $9.95 per month. Customers can sign up for a two-week trial at: GotVoice supports all major phone carriers including AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, Sprint/Nextel, Alltel, Qwest and others.
