Riptide Selected to Develop the US Army's Urban Operations Training Systems

ORLANDO, FL--(Marketwire - Apr 14, 2011) - Riptide Software, Inc. announced today that it has been selected by The U.S. Army Program Executive Office Simulation, Training and Instrumentation (PEO STRI) along with prime Lockheed Martin, Global Training & Logistics division to develop the US Army's Urban Operations Training Systems. This contract is an IDIQ (Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity) with an estimated lifetime value of $500 million.

The intent of Urban Operations is to provide dynamic, modular and scalable solutions to fulfill various aspects of individual, collective, and combined arms training. Urban Operations encompasses more than traditional going-to-war training; it also addresses other-than-war operations (such as peacekeeping missions), and homeland defense and anti-terrorism scenarios.

"We are very pleased that our Exercise Control system, and our Video Monitoring and Editing System were selected by the Army," said Riptide Chief Technology Officer, Barry Clinger. "This effort allows Riptide and Lockheed the opportunity to bring our soldier training systems to an incredibly important segment of soldier training in today's modern warfare."
