Ritz-Carlton Montreal Announces Five-Year Partnership With Local Children's Charity, Chu Sainte-Justine Foundation

Historic Hotel Commits $100,000 Towards the Healing More Better Campaign

MONTREAL, QC--(Marketwired - Mar 11, 2014) - The Ritz-Carlton Montreal has just announced a five-year partnership with local children's charity, CHU Sainte-Justine Foundation. The luxury hotel in Montreal has made a pledge of $100,000, over five-years, towards Sainte-Justine's Healing More Better campaign. The pledge will take form in various fundraising activities and gifts-in-kind to help Sainte-Justine lower its operating costs and raise necessary funds. Ritz-Carlton Montreal will also invite guests to make a $1 donation upon check-in towards the campaign.

Located in Montreal, the CHU Sainte-Justine Foundation is dedicated to providing children and mothers-to-be with a standard of care that is among the very best in the world. The centre currently ranks as the largest of its kind in Canada and the second largest in North America. The Healing More Better campaign aims to attract $150 million in donations over a six-year period to invest in integrating research, healthcare and teaching activities, with the ultimate goal of accelerating the pace of discovery and ensuring that more children in Quebec have a happier, and healthier, future.

"Ritz-Carlton Montreal is proud to announce our five-year partnership with the CHU Sainte-Justine Foundation," says Andrew Torriani, CEO and General Manager of the Ritz-Carlton Montreal. "This is incredibly motivating for us; our entire staff is fully committed to this great cause. Over the next five years we will be engaging in numerous community events and activities through volunteer efforts to meet our donation goal."

About the Ritz-Carlton Montreal
Granted the prestigious CAA/AAA Five Diamond Award -- the only one in Quebec -- the Ritz-Carlton Montreal has been the most elegant address in the city since 1912. In May of 2012, the hotel re-opened after an extensive multi-year restoration, which saw the Montreal landmark transformed into a chic and modern space.

Located near many high-end boutiques, galleries and museums, this luxury hotel offers guests 96 guest rooms and 33 suites featuring the latest in high-tech amenities, while details from the original hotel abound to accentuate its seamless mixture of old and new. The hotel's restaurant, Maison Boulud, is operated by the hotel in collaboration with Chef Daniel Boulud and his restaurant management company, The Dinex Group. It was designed by Super Potato, one of the world's most highly reputed restaurant design firms.

The first hotel in the world to combine the Ritz and Carlton designations, the Ritz-Carlton Montreal is located in the heart of Golden Square Mile, home to Montreal's elite in the early twentieth century. A symbol of refinement and elegance, the hotel has welcomed some of the world's best-known heads of state, artists and business magnates. Several of the 20th century's leading figures have stayed there, including the Queen Mother, Winston Churchill, Charles de Gaulle, Richard Nixon, Pierre Elliott Trudeau, Brian Mulroney, George Bush Sr., as well as Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton, who celebrated their first wedding at the hotel.

The Residences at the Ritz-Carlton Montreal
