Ritz-Carlton Montreal Unveils Canada's First Dom Perignon Champagne Bar

Chic Bar New Downtown Hot Spot for Montreal's Champagne Connoisseurs

MONTREAL, QC--(Marketwired - Oct 9, 2014) -   Montreal's most-stylish denizens and oenophiles flocked to the iconic Ritz-Carlton Montreal last night to toast the official opening of the luxury hotel's new Dom Pérignon Champagne Bar. Exclusive to The Ritz-Carlton Montreal -- and the first of its kind in all of Canada -- the Dom Pérignon Champagne Bar is located in the historic Montreal hotel's famed Palm Court, arguably the city's most glamourous lobby.

"We are excited to launch the first Dom Pérignon bar in Canada in partnership with The Ritz-Carlton Montreal," says Stephane de Meurville, the General Manager of Moët-Hennessy Canada. "It is a place that embodies the true Dom Pérignon values of excellence, elegance and expertise."

The sleek, custom-designed black bar offers a dramatic contrast to the light and airy setting of the Palm Court. The champagne menu features both Rosé & Brut Dom Pérignon available by the glass and bottle; the full service bar also features an exclusive cocktail menu, and offers a variety of spirits and drinks.

Ritz-Carlton Montreal's Dom Pérignon Champagne Bar is open evenings Thursday-Saturday, from 5.00pm to 11.00pm. Starting next summer, the bar will be open nightly, from June to September 2015. Reservations recommended.

About The Ritz-Carlton Montreal
Granted the prestigious CAA/AAA Five Diamond Award -- the only one in Quebec -- The Ritz-Carlton Montreal has been the most elegant address in the city since 1912. In May of 2012, the hotel re-opened after an extensive multi-year restoration, which saw the Montreal landmark transformed into a chic and modern space.

Located near many high-end boutiques, galleries and museums, this luxury hotel offers guests 96 guest rooms and 33 suites featuring the latest in high-tech amenities, while details from the original hotel abound to accentuate its seamless mixture of old and new. The hotel's restaurant, Maison Boulud, is operated by the hotel in collaboration with Chef Daniel Boulud and his restaurant management company, The Dinex Group. It was designed by Super Potato, one of the world's most highly reputed restaurant design firms.

The first hotel in the world to combine the Ritz and Carlton designations, The Ritz-Carlton Montreal is located in the heart of Golden Square Mile, home to Montreal's elite in the early twentieth century. A symbol of refinement and elegance, the hotel has welcomed some of the world's best-known heads of state, artists and business magnates. Several of the 20th century's leading figures have stayed there, including the Queen Mother, Winston Churchill, Charles de Gaulle, Richard Nixon, Pierre Elliott Trudeau, Brian Mulroney, George Bush Sr., as well as Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton, who celebrated their first wedding at the hotel.
