The Ritz-Carlton Spa, Denver Lands "Top of the Town" Award and Launches Pumpkin-Infused Autumn Experiences

Discover an Unforgettable Denver Massage and the Flavors of Fall at This Luxury Spa

DENVER, CO--(Marketwired - Aug 19, 2016) - Editors at Denver's top magazine, 5280, chose The Ritz-Carlton Spa, Denver as having the best massage in the city, recognizing it as a "mecca of relaxation" in the annual Top of the Town issue, released every July. The publication praises an array of offerings and achievements, like the noteworthy deep-tissue Rocky Mountain Massage, as well as the spa's 1.1-million-dollar renovation earlier in the year. Now, the spa team at this downtown Denver hotel has crafted a trio of experiences incorporating pumpkin for a Flavors of Fall package. Pumpkin is known to have extensive wellness properties, which can be applied through an at-home DIY mask with a recipe created by our skincare experts.

The Flavors of Fall Package is priced at $320 USD and is available between September 1, 2016 and November 30, 2016.

Guests will start their spa experience with a 50-minute Aromatherapy Massage to take the mind and body to Pumpkin Spice Lattes, cool weather and homemade apple pie. As the crisp autumn weather begins to dry out skin, a 50-minute Pumpkin Enzyme Facial will exfoliate dead skin and reveal firmer, hydrated skin. Spa-goers will conclude with a Pumpkin Spice Pedicure, beginning with an Apple Cider soak and Honey Sugar Scrub and Pumpkin Spice Mask for total rejuvenation of the toes. Plus, a warm "Pumpkin Latte" cocktail will be served during the service.

In order to recreate the spa experience at home, the Denver spa will offer a complimentary Sanitas Pumpkin Enzyme Mask ($30 value). What's more, guests can enjoy 20% savings on the Pumpkin Spice Pedicure every Wednesday for a Mid-Week Spice Up.

DIY Pumpkin-Honey Facial Mask
When carving your pumpkins this fall, don't throw the insides out. Instead, mix a few tablespoons of pureed pumpkin with 1 whipped egg white (which will help tighten pores and reduce the appearance of fine lines), 1 tablespoon of plain yogurt (which will help exfoliate) and 1 tablespoon of honey (which is anti-bacterial, and great for clearing acne). Apply mixture to the entire face, avoiding the eye area, and leave on for 10 minutes before rinsing. The yogurt and pumpkin will encourage cell-turnover and will exfoliate, while the honey has anti-bacterial properties to ensure a fresh face for fall! (Don't have the time? Try Boulder-based Sanitas Pumpkin Enzyme Mask, featured in the Flavors of Fall day package and available for purchase at the spa).

Pumpkin brings about a few wellness properties when used on the skin:

  • Pumpkin is packed with fruit enzymes and alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs), which increase cell turnover, to brighten and smooth the skin. It also contains antioxidants like Vitamin A and Vitamin C to help soften and soothe the skin while also boosting collagen production to prevent the signs of aging.
  • Zinc in pumpkin seeds is brilliant for acne sufferers. Zinc will help control the hormone level and oil production, as well as assist with healing of the skin.
  • Pumpkin seeds are high in essential fatty acids and Vitamin E, which are necessary to maintain good barrier function of the skin. They also regulate sebum, great for an oily skin.
