Riverbed Appoints Willem Hendrickx as Senior Vice President of Sales in EMEA

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwire - Jul 11, 2011) - Riverbed Technology (NASDAQ: RVBD), the IT performance company, today announced that Willem Hendrickx has joined the company as senior vice president of sales in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). Hendrickx brings to this role more than 20 years of sales and business development experience, and a track record of success in growing businesses through the development and execution of new business models, expanding distribution channels and executing global go-to-market strategies. In his new role as the head of sales in EMEA, Hendrickx will be responsible for driving growth across the EMEA region as Riverbed® continues to expand its global operations.

Hendrickx will set out to enrich the business by executing go-to-market strategies and enhancing sales enablement, helping to expand marketplace and distribution channels, as well as optimizing the customer and partner sales experience. "Willem is a seasoned leader in the enterprise market and comes to Riverbed with a successful track record in developing new business opportunities that have resulted in strong revenue growth," said Dave Peranich, executive vice president of worldwide sales at Riverbed. Hendrickx joins Riverbed from Tieto, where he was the executive vice president of global accounts and customer market operations. Prior to Tieto, Hendrickx was senior vice president of global channels at EMC, where he spearheaded EMC's global channel operations. During this time he focused on the development and execution of EMC's global go-to-market strategy for its channel ecosystem, including the growth and evolution of EMC's Velocity Partner Program. In addition to holding various roles while at EMC, Hendrickx also held leadership positions within Parametric Technology and LCI Computer.
