Riverbed Enhances Global Partner Network Program

Company Introduces Enhancements to North American Program to Accelerate Partner Success

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwire - March 3, 2009) - Riverbed Technology (NASDAQ: RVBD), the IT infrastructure performance company for networks, applications and storage, today announced enhancements to its global Riverbed Partner Network (RPN), with specific enhancements to the RPN Value-added Resellers Program within North America. The RPN is a worldwide channel program that enables and rewards channel partners, including service integrators, service providers, value-added resellers (VARs) and distributors that distribute and resell Riverbed® award-winning technology. New program features in North America include VAR categorization, forward investment and channel rewards from Riverbed that enhance its partners' business opportunities.

The RPN Program is built on a foundation of focusing Riverbed resources and investment in partners who are committed to working closely with Riverbed to build successful practices based on Riverbed solutions. The new program features in North America include new VAR categorization levels -- Silver, Gold, Platinum and Diamond -- and recognizes the value of heavily investing in the development of the VARs' businesses with the introduction of market development funds (MDF), enhanced rebates and a significant investment in training programs. The enhancements to the program allow Riverbed to work jointly with partners in an effort to increase demand, create training opportunities, and provide market awareness around Riverbed solutions.

Enhancements to the Riverbed Partner Network in North America include:

Channel Enablement

The RPN Program is designed to equip Riverbed channel partners for success. Riverbed provides its partners with solutions to help drive incremental revenue and then supports RPN VARs' ability to market and sell those solutions with sales and technical training and certification, as well as marketing, sales and technical tools that help drive success in competitive situations. As part of the new program rollout, Riverbed introduced two new training programs to further support RPN VARs' ability to sell Riverbed solutions -- the Authorized Training Provider (ATP) and the Riverbed Sales Accreditation Program (RSAP).

The Authorized Training Provider (ATP) program for resellers enables Riverbed VARs that have completed the ATP program to conduct official Riverbed training courses both for other resellers as well as customers. The ATP offers resellers an incremental revenue source and provides them additional local training classes in order to build their competence in Riverbed products and solutions.

The Riverbed Sales Accreditation Program (RSAP) provides free, online, self-paced training to Riverbed's partner community. The RSAP provides partners with an easy way to increase their knowledge of Riverbed solutions, without taking people out of the office for several days.

Channel Development

With the RPN, Riverbed has built a highly channel-centric sales model. Riverbed provides joint business planning for partnership development and provides inside and outside sales teams support. In addition, Riverbed works with its RPN members on marketing initiatives, including lead generation and awareness programs.

Channel Rewards

RPN members that provide strong commitments to Riverbed receive generous benefits that are designed both to accelerate future revenue growth and reward current success.
