Riverbed to Showcase IT Performance Solutions at Storage Decisions New York

Company to Discuss the Role of WAN Optimization in Accelerating Storage and Disaster Recovery Initiatives

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwire - September 20, 2010) - Riverbed Technology (NASDAQ: RVBD), the IT performance company, today announced its participation in Storage Decisions New York 2010, taking place September 20-21, 2010 at the Hilton New York in New York City. Storage Decisions brings together top storage industry experts and industry analysts to share their thoughts on ways to evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of enterprise storage infrastructures while providing solutions and strategies that account for today's challenge -- to be innovative, while budgets and resources remain lean, for both the short-term and future growth. Attendees can visit the Riverbed® booth to learn how the company's wide area network (WAN) optimization solutions enable customers to accelerate applications and data for data centers, cloud environments, branch offices and mobile workers.

Riverbed offers WAN optimization solutions that speed performance in some cases by up to 100 times, making the WAN feel more like the LAN. More than 8,300 customers, across a wide range of markets, have implemented Riverbed WAN optimization solutions to improve employee productivity, cut costs and enable a more agile IT infrastructure.

Many companies with large data centers and strategic data protection initiatives, including back-up, disaster recovery (DR), replication and storage consolidation, are leveraging Steelhead® appliances to accelerate the processes, in some cases up to 55 times faster, and to reduce WAN bandwidth requirements by up to 95%.

To meet the performance, reliability and flexibility requirements of large enterprises, Riverbed introduced the Steelhead 7050 model appliance earlier this year, which combines new levels of throughput and connection scalability with solid-state drives (SSD) and 10 Gigabit Ethernet (10 GbE) connectivity. The Steelhead 7050 model appliance more cost-effectively manages large-scale data center-to-data center replication, accelerates applications across many locations and users in an enterprise, and allows organizations to build large private cloud infrastructures.

Visitors to the Riverbed booth will also learn how Riverbed continues to forge key partnerships to better support its customers' data center consolidation efforts and strategic DR initiatives. Riverbed was recently awarded the 2009 EMC® Partner Solution Award: Offering of the Year - Symmetrix® and also has partnerships with a variety of leading storage vendors, such as Brocade, Dell EqualLogic, Double-Take Software, HDS, HP, IBM, NetApp and Symantec.

Storage Decisions New York 2010 is a leading industry event with a 2-day, 6-track agenda that delves in-depth into strategic planning on both day-to-day storage practices and storage purchases. This conference provides tactical tips on ways to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of enterprise storage infrastructure for current and long-term success.
