Riverbed WAN Optimization Enables Backup and Replication of Massive Data Loads Over the WAN; Customer HNTB to Speak at Disaster Recovery Journal's Spring World 2010

Riverbed Steelhead Appliances Support Strategic Initiative to Eliminate Tape-Based Back-Up at HNTB's 70 Remote Sites; Two Week Back-up Backlog of 90 Terabytes Reduced to Less Than 24 Hours

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwire - March 15, 2010) - Riverbed Technology (NASDAQ: RVBD), the IT performance company, today announced that Wes Owen will share infrastructure and architecture firm HNTB's experience with Riverbed® wide area network (WAN) optimization solutions at Disaster Recovery Journal's Spring World 2010, taking place at Disney Coronado Springs Resort in Orlando, FL, between March 21 - 24.

Disaster Recovery Journal's Spring World 2010, "The Path to Global Resilience," focuses on all aspects of business continuity, including data processing, IT, risk analysis, resiliency, communications, crisis planning, awareness training, certification, industry regulations and more.

In his session, Owen will discuss how he deployed Riverbed Steelhead® appliances to build a replication process across HNTB's 70 remote sites that would allow the organization to quickly recover in the event of a disaster. During his presentation, "Migrating from Tape to Disk-based Back-up and Replication," Owen will provide insight on how the firm improved and streamlined its backup and replication processes while accelerating the speed of inter-office data transfers and collaboration with WAN optimization solutions from Riverbed. He will also explain how Riverbed Steelhead appliances helped reduce costs as well as mitigate the real risk of data loss by significantly improving both recovery time objectives (RTOs) and recovery point objectives (RPOs) for disaster recovery (DR) -- a two week back-up backlog of 90 terabytes was reduced to less than 24 hours.
