Riverhouse Announces Appointment of Executive Chef

HADDAM, CT -- (MARKET WIRE) -- March 23, 2007 -- In anticipation of the grand opening in May of its nearly completed 20,000-square-foot Riverhouse reception center, situated on a secluded ridge atop the banks of the Connecticut River in Haddam. The Riverhouse at Goodspeed Station has announced the appointment of its Executive Chef, John Thompson. Having served for twenty years at such venues as the Sheraton Hotel in Boston, the Crown Plaza Hotel in Hartford, the Brazilian Court Hotel in Palm Beach, and most recently at Connecticut's Simsbury Inn, Chef Thomson is recognized by such notable institutions as the American Culinary Federation, Les Amis d'Escoffier Society and the James Beard Foundation. Mr. Thomson also has been invited to participate in "best-of-best" culinary presentations for the March of Dimes, the U.S. Department of Defense and The American Cancer Society.

"When I learned about the opportunity at The Riverhouse," said Thomson, "I saw the immediate and long-term potential and wanted to be part of it." General Manager of The Riverhouse, Jim Bucko, said, "Out of the six final candidates for the position -- all outstanding chefs from Miami, Chicago and Connecticut - Chef Thomson was our first choice. The man's a professional who has overseen more than a thousand weddings. With his attention to detail, and his passion for creating menus from scratch, he's always been at the top of the list. We're extremely proud that John has joined our executive team."

Confirmed bookings of wedding receptions and corporate events for the new Riverhouse facility's 2007 through 2008 season have continued to rise beyond expectations, exceeding initial sales forecasts by 50 percent -- with new inquiries coming in daily. "Nevertheless," said Bucko, "we still have several choice wedding reception dates available. With complete audio-visual facilities, plus our flexible seating and menus, businesses throughout the metropolitan area have been getting in touch with us to plan meetings and social events."
