RiverStone Resources Employees Prepping for RiverStone Cup XIII

MANCHESTER, NH--(Marketwired - Jan 8, 2014) - New Hampshire ice hockey fans are eagerly looking forward to RiverStone Cup XIII, pitting Dartmouth against UNH, with the winner taking home the coveted RiverStone Cup along with bragging rights for the coming year. The game, sponsored by RiverStone Resources LLC, of Manchester, NH is scheduled for January 11, 2014, 5:00 pm at the Verizon Wireless Arena in Manchester.

The annual RiverStone Cup game, while exciting and colorful because of the competition among nationally ranked Division I college hockey teams, actually serves as a platform for significant fundraising to benefit deserving New Hampshire charities. All fundraising proceeds go to beneficiaries selected each year by RiverStone employees, who not only make generous personal donations but also run pre-game and intermission fund raising activities in which game attendees can participate.

A major beneficiary of the employees' efforts is the New Hampshire Food Bank. In addition to regular donations throughout the year, the employees mount a special fund raiser, the "Tuna Challenge," dedicated to the New Hampshire Food Bank and carried out in the workplace in the weeks leading up to the game. (The month of January, when the game is played, is "Tuna Month" at the Food Bank, hence "Tuna Challenge.") Two teams of employees, the Whales and the Sharks, compete to see which of the two can produce the largest amount of money to be presented to the Food Bank at the game.

For RiverStone Cup XIII, two other charities have also been selected by RiverStone employees to receive donations. Veterans Count, a charity devoted to helping soldiers and their families in need, will receive a $1,000 check to honor the member of our military services who drops the symbolic first puck during the pre-game ceremonies. Secondly, Operation Hat Trick, which originated within the UNH Athletic Department and provides hats as well as other services to veterans who have suffered wounds to the head, will receive the proceeds from the game day fund raisers.

Nick Bentley, Chairman, CEO, and President of RiverStone Resources, said, "We are extremely appreciative of our employees' continuing support of local charities. Their personal donations of money and time spent in fundraising activities around the RiverStone Cup game are essential to our success in helping our neighbors in need throughout New Hampshire. We urge everyone to attend RiverStone Cup XIII and join in this important community work."

Mel Gosselin, Executive Director of the New Hampshire Food Bank, added, "I cannot overemphasize the importance of RiverStone's support in sustaining our hunger-relief activities among the many individuals and families in New Hampshire who struggle every day to make ends meet. We are truly grateful for their reliable, continuing generosity."
