RiverStone Resources Teams Up With Hockey Fans for a Huge Tuna Turnout

Over 7 TONS of Tuna to Benefit the NH Food Bank

MANCHESTER, NH--(Marketwire - January 26, 2011) - RiverStone Resources is pleased to announce that their annual in-house Tuna Drive to benefit the New Hampshire Food Bank was a major success, generating $22,230 which could equate to as much as 13,894 pounds of tuna in 5oz cans, with the Food Bank's purchasing power. Combined with the tuna collected at the RiverStone Cup X hockey game, the total exceeds 14,000 pounds of tuna; that's more than 7 TONS of tuna!

The donation was a two part initiative to help support "Tuna Month" at the New Hampshire Food Bank. First RiverStone Resources' employees held an internal fundraiser, in conjunction with RiverStone's matching gift program, to collect as much money as possible to donate to the Food Bank for tuna purchases. The goal was to beat last year's total donation of 3,725 pounds of tuna. This proved to be no issue for this motivated, energetic and kind-hearted group, as they crushed the record by collecting enough money to buy more than three times the amount of tuna.

The second part of RiverStone's annual Tuna Drive took place at the 10th Annual RiverStone Cup hockey game on Saturday January 15th where the UNH Wildcats took on the Big Green of Dartmouth at the Verizon Wireless Arena. Fans were asked to bring tuna to the game and responded by bringing 209 pounds of tuna and donating $280 to support the New Hampshire Food Bank.

"We are once again blown away by this tremendous donation from our friends at RiverStone Resources and hockey fans from across the state," said Melanie Gosselin, Executive Director of the New Hampshire Food Bank. "RiverStone is a vital community partner for us and is truly dedicated to supporting the fight against hunger. They are creative thinkers with big hearts, looking for new ways to get people excited and motivated to donate. On behalf of everyone at the Food Bank, the 412 agencies that we serve and the 127,200 men, women and children that benefit from our services, thank you RiverStone for your ongoing support!"

Ben Bomhoff, RiverStone Resources Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer expressed his pride in the results of the joint endeavor, saying, "The response of RiverStone employees, as well as that of the many fans who turned out to support the effort, testifies to the strong community spirit we enjoy here in NH. There is nothing more important than reaching out to help friends and neighbors in need, and RiverStone Resources is proud to be a part of that vital work."
