GASPE, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - Oct. 16, 2009) - Parks Canada informs Forillon Park visitors and road users that Route du Banc (Cap-des-Rosiers sector) will be closed as of 12:00 noon on Friday, October 16, 2009, and will remain closed until spring 2010.

This closing is necessary to ensure road user safety. In the coming months, Parks Canada will complete studies and prepare plans and specifications for rehabilitation of the Riviere Whalen bridge near Cap-des-Rosiers Harbour.

In the mean time, visitors can reach the park's north sector by taking Route du secteur Nord from Route 132. Signs will be posted to guide park visitors and road users.
Parks Canada is aware of the temporary inconvenience caused by this closing and thanks the public for its understanding.
