Market analysis of the music industry, as it pertains to the overall revenue generated, indicates that ringtone sales accounts for 30% of the market over the past six months. Ringtones are typically priced between $2.99 and $3.99 retail in North America and industry sales are expected to approach one billion dollars by the end of 2007 worldwide. Ringtone purchases are considered the ultimate emotional buy in music media as they are easily billed, downloaded and stored on devices such as PDAs, and cell phones. Rap stars such as Mims are now bragging about going platinum on ringtones instead of CDs which are rapidly becoming the format of the past with the advent of download retailers such as iTunes, Napster, YouTube, Rhapsody, etc. RMD will continue to use these retailers so as to not give up any market share.
