Robert Edwards Joins Farelogix Board of Directors

Senior executive advisor to the travel industry has extensive expertise creating, delivering, and managing strategic technology solutions


MIAMI, FLORIDA--(Marketwired - July 14, 2015) - Farelogix today announced that it has added another airline industry veteran, Robert (Bob) Edwards, to its board of directors. Recognized for his extensive global airline technology experience and innovation, Mr. Edwards will provide Farelogix with guidance and expert perspective on the changing role of distribution technology in the travel industry. He is currently the Chief Executive Manager of Nybble Limited, specializing in airline technology infrastructure, consolidation and strategic planning.

Mr. Edwards' experience includes leading and successfully executing one of the largest and most complex airline system migrations to date; designing and implementing an industry-leading enterprise data warehouse; and building a state-of-the-art data center. He was instrumental in creating what has become one of the top ten retail websites, and delivering an industry leading mobile strategy.

Prior to his current role, Mr. Edwards held the position of Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer at United Airlines, responsible for the effective implementation and management of technology strategy and solutions to support their global business. He retired from United with more than 35 years of experience in the transportation industry.

Mr. Edwards began his career at Continental Airlines in 1979 and held management positions in Cargo, Airport Services, Flight Operations and Technology. He started developing technology solutions for Continental in 1989 and used his experience and vision to keep the airline at the forefront of system innovation. Mr. Edwards was responsible for the global operation of all technology systems; management of IT service providers and related contracts; the long-term strategy of the airlines' business systems; the information security practice; the program office and infrastructure architecture; and IT engineering. Mr. Edwards led the technology due diligence effort for the Company's Mergers and Acquisitions activity, and was the designated integration officer for IT throughout the United and Continental merger.

In joining the Farelogix Board of Directors, Mr. Edwards complements an existing roster of experienced financial and airline industry professionals, including: Michael Marocco, Head of Private Equity at Sandler Capital; Ellen Keszler, past President of Travelocity Business; Bonnie Reitz, retired Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Continental Airlines; Bert Amato, an experienced technology professional and investor; William Bianco, Managing Director at Sandler Capital; and, Al Lenza, a seasoned travel distribution and e-commerce executive and past Vice-President, Distribution and E-Commerce at Northwest Airlines.
