Robert G. Foster Appointed to Board of Directors, EPCOR Utilities Inc.

EDMONTON, ALBERTA--(Marketwired - May 8, 2014) - EPCOR Utilities Inc. (EPCOR) is pleased to announce that Robert G. Foster has been appointed to its Board of Directors effective May 8, 2014.

He will be our first Board member from the United States where EPCOR USA is the largest, private regulated water utility in Arizona and New Mexico," said EPCOR Board Chair Hugh J. Bolton.

Mr. Foster is the retiring Mayor of Long Beach, California, an office he has held since 2006. He has an extensive background as an executive in the utility sector and is the current Chair of the California Independent System Operator.

Prior to this, Mr. Foster was President of Southern California Edison. He has held key executive positions within the company and its parent, Edison International, over two decades.

Mr. Foster played a lead role in developing energy policy for the State of California during the early part of his career. At the state's Energy Commission, Mr. Foster held key positions including Deputy Executive Director and Chief of the Energy Conservation Division. He has also served on the California State Senate Committee on Energy and Public Utilities as Chief of Staff.

Mr. Foster graduated from San Jose State University with a B.A. in Public Administration in 1969. He serves on a number of governing bodies for civic, cultural and governmental organizations and non-profit agencies. Mr. Foster is currently Chair of the U.S. Conference of Mayors' Environmental Committee.
