Robert Gatto Named Chief Executive Officer of PointRoll

Former PointRoll Senior Vice President of Sales Leverages 25 Years of Tech Industry Experience to Lead Company in Setting a New Standard for Digital Display Engagement and Effectiveness

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - February 15, 2011) - PointRoll, a Gannett Company (NYSE: GCI) and the leading provider of digital display marketing services and technology, announced today that it has appointed Robert Gatto to the position of Chief Executive Officer. As the Senior Vice President of Sales for PointRoll, Gatto led the company in achieving double-digit revenue growth in 2010 and in the creation of exclusive offerings, including digital display local offer management and data distribution. In his role as CEO, Gatto will lead PointRoll as well as its retail division, ShopLocal.

Gatto takes the helm as the company aims to raise the bar for interactive rich media display advertising creative, delivery and management. Building on its legacy as the leading provider of rich media display ads, PointRoll has the capacity to offer standard display advertising as well as sophisticated, high impact interactive advertising, dynamic creative optimization and ad serving across PC, iPhone, iPad, out of home channels and more. 

Gatto replaces former CEO, Jason Tafler, who has stepped down from the company to move closer to family in his native Canada.

Gatto brings more than 25 years of experience in the technology industry managing marketing, sales, distribution, product, and new market development. In his eight years with ShopLocal prior to its acquisition by Gannett and PointRoll, Gatto was instrumental in growing the business to include more than 100 of the nation's top retailers today. Prior to joining ShopLocal, Gatto held sales executive positions at Hyperion Solutions, the leader in financial analytics software and SPSS, Inc., the leading provider of predictive analytics and data mining software.

Gatto will be succeeded in his role as Senior Vice President of Sales at PointRoll by Sarah Ripmaster. Ripmaster was most recently Vice President of Major Accounts at PointRoll leading sales efforts for top advertisers and their agencies, including automotive sales and strategy working with leading OEMs and automotive agencies for both foreign and domestic brands. Before joining PointRoll, Ripmaster was a pharmaceutical sales representative with Ortho-McNeil Neurologics, a division of Johnson and Johnson, and began her career as the regional advertising director for retail-focused Ripmaster is a member of the Chicago Interactive Media Association (CIMA) and 313 Digital.

Gatto is supported by the rest of PointRoll's executive team, which remains consistent. Sandy Dondici as Chief Operating Officer of PointRoll leading operations and technology teams, Catherine Spurway-Hepler as Senior Vice President of Strategy & Marketing, continuing to lead strategic business and marketing objectives, and Max Mead will continue to develop partnership strategies as Vice President of Business Development.
