DALLAS, TX--(Marketwired - Jun 4, 2013) - Robert Gonzales has joined TravisWolff as a partner in its qualified plan assurance services group. He will lead the TravisWolff team in Dallas and San Antonio to provide ERISA audits of employee benefit plans in single and multi-plan environments.
Gonzales, a certified public accountant with over 22 years of experience, previously served as the qualified plan assurance practice leader and national Employee Benefit Plan committee chair for a large national accounting firm. He has also led employee benefit plan audit practices at a large international firm and within the Big Four accounting firms. "Robert's extensive experience working with businesses across a variety of industries, including some of the largest companies headquartered in North Texas, brings a depth and expertise to TravisWolff that can be leveraged across all of the services the Firm delivers," said Harold Gaar, Managing Partner.
Gonzales specializes in audits of plans with public company stock and 11-K filing requirements, non-SEC defined contribution plan audits, defined benefit pension plan audits (including cash balance plans), health and welfare benefit plan audits, and master trust arrangements. He is a recognized expert in the industry and has instructed and presented on qualified plan auditing at the national, state and local level. He was recently recognized at the AICPA's annual Employee Benefit Plans Conference for his efforts as a member of the subcommittee tasked with updating the AICPA's Accounting and Auditing Guide for Employee Benefit Plans, January 1, 2013, edition.
