Robert Redford talks nostalgia, turning 80 - and why he doesn't want to celebrate his big birthday in interview with Kjersti Flaa for Pete's Dragon.

LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwired - August 17, 2016) - The legendary actor Robert Redford is turning 80 on August 18th. He told reporter Kjersti Flaa that he doesn't like to get nostalgic. On the question if he is going to celebrate, he says: "I don't think I can avoid it, but birthdays are days that I like to skip over. When it comes I like to look the other way."

He added: "But you can't avoid it and your family and people around you are saying that we are going to celebrate you whether you like it or not - so you better like it."

Redford also spoke about his career choices, the focus on his looks earlier in his career - and the effect he has, and had, on women.

The actor is currently starring in Disney's kids movie Pete's Dragon, which hit theatres earlier this month.
