ROCA-MAX Molybdenum Exploration Drill Program Commences

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - July 18, 2007) - Roca Mines Inc. (TSX VENTURE:ROK) ("Roca" or the "Company") provides the following update on exploration activities;

Hy-Tech Drilling Ltd. of Smithers, BC has mobilized a diamond drill and crew to the MAX Molybdenum Mine site. Hy-Tech will carry out an initial drilling exploration program which will focus on the potential to expand the known molybdenite resource which remains open at depth.

This initial program will test areas below the existing MAX resource and will evaluate geological models developed by the Company's exploration advisory board. These models include multiple opportunities to add to the resource including; i) testing of extensions to the HG Zone, ii) testing fault-offset zones of the deposit, and iii) testing a postulated deep hydrothermal source of the MAX deposit. Each planned drillhole is designed to test more than one of these exploration models. This initial drill program will be carried out from the existing adit level underground, and each hole will range in depth from 700m to 1,500m. Results from the program will be reported once all drilling, sampling and assay results have been received by the Company.

The MAX Molybdenum deposit contains a measured and indicated resource of 42.9 million tonnes grading 0.20% MoS2 using a 0.10% MoS2 cutoff (refer to T.N. Macauley's 43-101 compliant technical report dated September 2004 available via SEDAR).

Foremore Project

Roca has recently mobilized a crew to prepare the Company's existing primary camp prior to field work planned to commence shortly. The Foremore VMS-Gold project is located in northwestern British Columbia, 45 km (27 miles) north of Barrick Gold's Eskay Creek Mine and mid-distance along the road route to the large-scale Galore Creek Project, currently being developed by NovaGold Resources Inc. and Teck Cominco Ltd.

Field crews will begin prospecting new areas of interest that were identified through interpretation of results from an airborne survey flown in late 2005. That survey and interpretation, along with previous exploration data, has led to the identification of numerous drill-ready targets which will be the focus of a drill program planned for later in the summer.

Roca's 2007 Foremore exploration program will initially focus on the South Boulder Field ("SBF") area where in excess of 800 massive sulphide boulders were originally discovered by Cominco in the late 1980's. Cominco's assay results of 53 mineralized boulders at this location averaged 9.4% Zn, 1.7% Pb and 102 g/t Ag (results reported in 43-101 compliant technical report on Foremore prepared by Mr. W.A. Sandy Sears, P.Geo. and Mr. John J. Watkins, P.Geo., dated April 2005).

Revelstoke Properties

Roca has also initiated exploration work on its Revelstoke Properties where ground reconnaissance, mapping and geochemistry surveys have been conducted over primary areas of interest. Results are pending on the initial programs conducted at these locations.
