Rock Island County, Ill. Chooses New World Systems' Browser-Based Local Government Software

TROY, MI -- (MARKET WIRE) -- April 11, 2006 -- New World Systems, a leading provider for 25 years of enterprise-wide software solutions for the public sector, announces Rock Island County, Ill. signed a contract valued at approximately $500,000 for New World's services and to license its integrated Logos.NET™ Public Administration suite of products on the Microsoft® .Net platform.

Rock Island County licensed Logos.NET Financial Management and Human Resources software to integrate information and improve productivity.

"The software the county has been using was initially purchased in 1979, and we felt it was time to upgrade to new technology that would increase productivity and save us money," said Rock Island County Auditor Diana Robinson. "We look forward to using New World's browser-based Logos.NET software, which will provide us information in real-time from budget status to invoice status."

Currently, the county's data is in several locations and must be merged together at the end of each month to create mandatory reports. "Basically, we don't know where we are until the monthly report is out, but with Logos.NET we will have access to that information anytime," said Robinson. "The automated reporting capability will take much less time since all the information is in a single, easily accessible location, which I am looking forward to."

Logos.NET provides local government organizations with the capability of implementing a decentralized environment. Rock Island County will be able to empower departments to enter their own invoices, purchase orders, timesheets, etc. In addition, each department will have access to its budget to decrease the chance of going over budget.

The built-in event-alert notifications and workflow technology in Logos.NET automatically displays tasks requiring attention by the user, such as approvals or exception-oriented activities, to ensure processes are not delayed and productivity continues.

As a Microsoft Certified Partner, New World has committed the development resources required to build and deploy robust solutions designed for all sizes of government agencies. Logos.NET was developed using proven Microsoft .NET technology, industry standard Windows 2000 Server and SQL Server 2000 database. From customizable screens to full suite integration, it will provide government officials fast and easy access to information.

Rock Island County provides services to approximately 150,000 citizens and supports a workforce of 715. New World and the county are looking to begin implementation immediately.
