RockBridge Proceeding With Acquisition of Exploration Company

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Oct. 14, 2009) - RockBridge Energy Inc. (RockBridge) (TSX VENTURE:RBE) announces that further to its news release of October 8, 2009, it and the shareholders of 0859842 B.C. Ltd., a private company in the mineral exploration business, have agreed to complete the formal share exchange agreement for the acquisition by November 15, 2009, with the closing to be no later than November 30, 2009. The acquisition by RockBridge is for 100% of the shares of the private company in consideration of 7,999,600 shares of RockBridge, at a deemed price of $0.08 each, and a cash payment of $50,000, with an arm's length finder to be issued 100,000 RockBridge shares as a finder's fee.

The acquisition of the private company will include four licenses covering 27 mineral claims prospective for rare earth elements, consisting of approximately 648 hectares or 1,600 acres, located north of Fortune Bay in southern Newfoundland, about 200 kilometers west of St John's. The acquisition will also include 6 mineral claims covering 2,707 hectares or 6,689 acres, located in the Stewart area of British Columbia, and 9 mineral claims covering 1,894 hectares or 4,680 acres, located in the Yukon.

RockBridge further announces that Graeme Sewell has resigned as a director of the company but will continue to assist the company as a consultant.

On completion of the acquisition of the exploration company, RockBridge will have diversified and broadened its resource base and development plans to include the 27 Newfoundland mineral claims, the 6 B.C. claims and the 9 Yukon claims, together with the current interests in 17 oil and gas wells in Alberta and B.C.
