Rockgate Intersects 6m @ 1.34% U3O8 at Falea Project, Mali, West Africa

High Grade Inclusions of up to 1m @ 6.45% U3O8 Suggest Discovery of Potential Feeder Zone

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Aug. 19, 2010) - Rockgate Capital Corp. (TSX:RGT) (the "Company") is pleased to announce assay results from diamond drill holes DF-243 to DF-252 completed in the Plateau Edge Structures on Rockgate's 100% owned Falea Project. Highlights include 1.34% U3O8 over 6.0 metres, including 6.45% over 1.0 metres and 0.44% U3O8 over 6.0 metres, including 1.49% U3O8 over 1.0 metres (see Table 1).

Discussion

  • Detailed 25 x 25 metre grid drilling confirms consistent high grade uranium mineralization with widths of up to 6.0 metres along the Plateau Edge Structure "PES" trending at 318 degrees.
  • Mineralization is contained in sandstones and conglomerates in close proximity to the unconformity along syn-sedimentary structure(s).
  • Since the discovery of the PES Zone in November 2009, drilling has extended the zone over a 600 metre strike length open to north-west.
  • Based on these observations, additional high-grade uranium and silver mineralization may occur in other areas of the North Zone with similar north-west trends.
  • Diamond drilling will now focus on extending the PES Zone, locating additional high-grade mineralization on other North Zone structures and, in particular, identifying near surface and potentially open-pittable mineralization. 
  • Assay results are still pending on holes Df-253 to DF-264. Once these are received and compiled, additional diamond drilling will be proposed to test the syn-sedimentary structure(s) beneath the sandstone and conglomerate horizons.
  • The Falea Sedimentary Basin appears to be similar in age and geological setting to the Athabasca Basin in Canada. These recent developments now indicate the Falea Basin hosts high-grade uranium mineralization similar to that of the Athabasca Basin.

Mr. Lorne Warner, P. Geo, Director and VP Exploration, is the Qualified Person for the Company under NI 43-101. All core samples are sawed in half on site and sent to ALS-Chemex in Bamako for sample preparation. Pulps are then sent to ALS-Chemex in Johannesburg, South Africa, for ICP-MS and XRF analysis. The company inserts a standard, blank and requests a duplicate sample be run in every batch of 20 samples. In addition, the lab inserts in-house blanks, standards, and duplicates with each shipment. Data that falls outside the control limits are checked and repeated as necessary.
