Rockhaven Resources Ltd. Confirms Gold-Silver Discovery at Klaza Project-Yukon

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Sept. 15, 2011) - Rockhaven Resources Ltd. (TSX VENTURE:RK) ("the Company" or "Rockhaven") is pleased to announce results from the first nine diamond drill holes of the 2011 program at its wholly-owned, road accessible Klaza bulk tonnage gold-silver discovery in the Dawson Gold Belt of southern Yukon. Highlights are as follows:

  • 3.78 g/t gold and 25 g/t silver over 12.03 m
  • 2.89 g/t gold and 49 g/t silver over 15.11 m
  • 4.24 g/t gold and 15 g/t silver over 10.46 m

The complete list of significant intervals appears on the attached table. Drill hole locations and sections can be viewed on the Company's website at www.rockhavenresources.com. All drill holes are mineralized with gold bearing (> 1.0 grams gold / tonne) drill indicated widths between 8.11 and 30.42 metres.

The nine holes are located on three section lines drilled across the Klaza zone, the most northerly of the four known parallel gold - silver bearing structural zones on the property. The three section lines lie in the western part of a 500 m long target that was identified by diamond drilling and excavator trenching in 2010. In 2011, the Klaza zone has been targeted with 37 diamond drill holes totaling 10,335 m. The section lines are located 50 m apart and each comprises 3 to 4 holes designed to test the structure at 50 m spacing to a maximum intersection depth of 250 m down-dip of the surface discovery.

Holes KL-11-12 through KL-11-20 have tested the Klaza zone over a 100 m strike length. The Klaza zone intersections are shown below in bold text.

Regional Exploration

The Klaza property hosts four parallel, 5 to 75 m wide, structural zones of epithermal-type gold-silver mineralization. All zones consist of quartz-sulphide veins, breccias and fracture networks that are spatially associated with quartz-feldspar porphyry dykes that intrude granitic country rocks. The zones exhibit exceptional lateral and down-dip continuity and collectively define a 1,500 m wide, northwesterly trending structural corridor.

Earlier in the summer, a scout diamond drill was used to complete nine holes along a 1,300 m strike length of the BRX zone. A track mounted, reverse circulation (RC) percussion drill is currently being used to provide greater mobility and to allow drilling to continue through fall freeze-up. The RC drill is targeting a series of linear gold-silver-arsenic soil geochemical and associated geophysical anomalies that extend beyond the area of historical trenching and drilling.

An excavator trenching program continues to expand all four mineralized structural zones along strike while exploring for new zones. Surface trench and drill results for an additional 43 diamond drill holes are pending.

Core samples from the Klaza property are being processed in 36 sample batches with each batch including two assay standards, two blank samples, and one duplicate sample. Analytical work is being done by ALS Chemex with sample preparation in Whitehorse, Yukon and assays and geochemical analyses in North Vancouver, British Columbia. All core samples were initially analyzed for gold by fire assay followed by atomic absorption (Au-AA24) and 35 other elements by inductively coupled plasma-atomic emission spectroscopy (ME-ICP41). Over limit values for gold were determined by fire assay and gravimetric finish (Au-GRA22) and silver values were determined using Ag-OG46. The average gold and silver grades reported for holes KL-11-12 through KL-11-20 are calculated from the assay results. All standard, blank and duplicate samples passed QA/QC reviews.

The 2011 program is being conducted by Archer, Cathro & Associates (1981) Limited. Technical information in this news release has been reviewed by Heather Smith, B.Sc., P.Geo., a qualified person for the purpose of National Instrument 43-101.

Rockhaven is well funded and currently has approximately $5 million in its treasury. The Company is focused on growth through exploration of its own projects and continues to work towards adding new advanced stage projects to its portfolio.
