Rocmec Strikes Boucher Structure for Seventh Time and Intersects 52.01 g/t Over 61 cm

POINTE-CLAIRE, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - March 12, 2008) - Rocmec Mining inc. (TSX VENTURE:RMI)(FRANKFURT:D5O) is pleased to announce that it has intercepted the mineralised Boucher structure for the seventh time. Surface and underground diamond drilling have intercepted the Boucher structure at different depths from surface to -400 m. The most recent diamond drill hole RU-02-08 intercepted the Boucher structure at a depth of -245 m over a thickness of approximately 20.1 metres. Two mineralised quartz veins were intersected grading 52.01 g/t Au over 61 cm and 13.35 g/t Au over 91 cm.

It is important to note that drill hole RU-02-08 is located in the same section and at the same height as drill hole RS-01-07 that also intercepted the Boucher structure and returned grades of 0.24 g/t Au over 40 cm. The sizeable grade differences of the two diamond drill holes are very characteristic of narrow-vein ore bodies located in the Abitibi region of Quebec and for this reason Rocmec has planned 10 additional drill holes before developing the Boucher zone.

Rocmec Mining's growth strategy is focused on developing quality assets that will significantly enhance shareholder value by using the thermal fragmentation method throughout the Americas to extract narrow vein ore bodies. By utilising the thermal fragmentation method in combination with conventional mining methods, the company aims to become a mid-tier gold producer. In addition, by providing service agreements, the company intends to generate additional revenue and accelerate the spread of this unique technology.
