Rogers Rolls Out Widespread Deployment of HSDPA Mobile Broadband Service

BELLEVUE, WA--(Marketwire - October 17, 2007) - 3G Americas, a wireless trade organization representing the GSM family of technologies, congratulates Rogers Wireless on their widespread deployment of commercial HSDPA service, or High Speed Downlink Packet Access, one of the most advanced mobile broadband wireless technologies available today. It was less than one year ago that Rogers launched HSDPA in three major Canadian markets along with plans to expand to the top Canadian markets during 2007. Now, their HSDPA network service is available in 25 major metropolitan markets from Quebec City to Victoria with coverage commercially available to 60% of the Canadian population. Rogers has the fastest wireless network in Canada and is the only wireless carrier in North America to offer wireless video calling.
