BOULDER, CO--(Marketwire - November 28, 2007) - Rogue Wave Software, Inc., the leader in enterprise class C++ components and infrastructure, today announced it will be participating in a complimentary webinar with IBM on Service Component Architecture (SCA) on Thursday, December 13, 2007. The session is designed to provide an overview of the programming model and support for implementations written in C++, C, and COBOL. The presenters will introduce programming interfaces and supporting annotations as well as background on the progressing standards and implementation.

"Architecture interoperability across the enterprise is a growing issue," said David Haney, chief architect, Hydra Products at Rogue Wave. "Through this session we will offer insights into how SCA components can be written in a variety of languages."

Haney will present with IBM's Bryan Aupperle, Websphere Enterprise Platform Software Solution Architect and Master Inventor. Rogue Wave's HydraSCA is the first commercially available run-time that supports the SCA specification, enabling a repeatable model for service enablement in high-performance environments. HydraSCA supports SCA components implemented in C++, Java, and BPEL. Rogue Wave also offers the most complete platform support across the IT spectrum allowing applications to be incorporated into SOA, legacy, and other environments.

This session is part of a series of 4 webinars on the Service Component Architecture (SCA) and its role in SOA sponsored by OASIS Open CSA. SCA encompasses a family of royalty-free specifications that are based on the idea that business function is provided as a series of services, which can be assembled together to create solutions that serve a particular business need. SCA provides a model both for the composition of services and for the creation of service components, including the reuse of existing application function within SCA compositions.
