Romios' ZTEM Survey Results on the Newmont Lake Property Identifies Additional Copper-Gold-Silver Porphyry Targets

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - April 16, 2014) - Romios Gold Resources Inc. ("Romios") (TSX VENTURE:RG) (PINKSHEETS:RMIOF) (FRANKFURT:D4R) is pleased to announce that it has received from Geotech Ltd. of Aurora, Ontario, a summary interpretation report on the results of a helicopter-borne Z-Axis Tipper Electromagnetic (ZTEM) and Aeromagnetic Geophysical Survey that was carried out on Romios' Newmont Lake Project in the Liard Mining Division in northwestern British Columbia.

Tom Drivas, President and CEO, comments: "We are extremely pleased that the results of the geophysical surveys carried out by Geotech Ltd. readily identified the known copper-gold-silver occurrences on which Romios has been conducting exploration programs during the last several years. We are even more excited that the surveys identified new geophysical anomalies that could have significant exploration potential. Since the scope of the present study did not allow a full evaluation of the survey results, we are considering a more detailed interpretation of the geophysical data generated by the airborne survey which may include 3D ZTEM and 3D Magnetic inversions and ground follow up.

More than seventeen discrete magnetic anomalies have been outlined in the Geotech survey of which nine currently appear to be unexplained geologically and could represent significant exploration targets.

Based on a geophysical target model for alkaline porphyry mineral deposits and related skarn-type occurrences, at least fourteen favourable resistivity and magnetic high priority exploration targets have been identified.

A total of 372 line kilometres of survey along lines oriented east-west and spaced 300 metres apart were flown over an area that encompassed the Northwest Zone, Telena Zone, Ken Zone, '72 Zone and the recently discovered Burgundy Ridge Zone, an area of significant widespread copper-gold-silver mineralization exposed over a 350 metre-long by 225 metre-wide area (see News Release dated October 7, 2013). In addition to determining the airborne geophysical signatures of the known zones of copper-gold-silver mineralization within the survey area, the objective of the ZTEM and aeromagnetic surveys was to define other possible hidden alkalic porphyry copper and related skarn-type occurrences at depth.

The survey area is located 50 kilometres southeast of Galore Creek Mining Corporation's (NovaGold-Teck JV) Galore Creek alkali porphyry copper-gold deposit, is also adjacent to the Copper Canyon skarn copper-gold deposit and is 30 kilometres northwest of the Barrick Gold Eskay Creek volcanogenic massive sulphide (VMS) deposit in the Stikine VMS and porphyry trend. Romios' property is underlain by favourable Stikine Terrane rocks and hosts numerous porphyry and skarn-type copper-gold-silver occurrences, as well as a VMS occurrence.
