A long-time partner of the Children's Aid Foundation through the RONA Foundation, RONA is selling the J.J. Bear initiative has raised over $400,000 to help disadvantaged children across Canada. RONA's objective is to raise $100,000 through the program in 2008.

"We are extremely grateful for the support RONA and the RONA Foundation have shown the Children's Aid Foundation," said Ann Barnard Ball, Executive Director of the Children's Aid Foundation. "Every year, 300,000 children in Canada are at risk of abuse and neglect and we are committed to reducing this number through prevention. Since 2000, the RONA Foundation has provided us with donations totalling over $250,000, helping us continue to assist the most disadvantaged children in our communities."

"Our RONA store employees are thrilled to be working with the Children's Aid Foundation in raising funds that will directly benefit children in their communities," said Michael Rushton, RONA's Vice President of Operations, Big-box stores, Ontario.

"We're confident we'll reach and even exceed our ambitious goal of $100,000 in sales by December 30th, added Doug Adlam, RONA's Vice President of Operations, Proximity stores, Ontario.
